I don’t know Myrtle O. Lamb, but she is buried near several of my family members, and a quick search on Ancestry tells me that on the 1925 Census, she and her husband, L. H. Lamb, lived at home with their children, Henry, Wilford, Earl, Clarence, Arthur, Eva, Nina, Bulah, Margret, and Mary.
Nina was my sister-in-law Nancy’s mother, and so Myrtle is the great-grandmother of my nieces and nephews. So, she is almost ‘kin’ after all.
Hi sherry,
I live in Alliance NE and my maiden name was Parker and your neck of the woods was a one time full of my relatives. I was just looking at my 40 year old genealogy records and had just focused on Myrtle Lamb. She and my grandfather were brother and sister and it is her daughter who compiled the data that I possess. The Parker/Maddy bunch used to have an annual picnic in Wellington. I never attended but my parents did. When I happened on to your site the name “Stocking” rose to the top of my memory and I see that Nancy Rae Cook married Harold Fredrick Stocking Jr in 1950. Anyway, you and probably share no blood but have family ties in common- it makes the world smaller and friendlier. I haven’t yet checked all that you offer, but I will. Thanks for your work.
Kathie
Hi Kathie! Well, we are ‘almost’ related, for sure! My brother did marry a Cook, and one of our first cousins married her sister, so I have lots of family who is related to you, and I’m sure the family history/genealogy buffs would love to trade e-mails with you.
There is a Lamb reunion coming up, too. I am not sure where it will be at, but suppose here in Sumner County. I believe it is in October, but if you are interested, get back with me and I will find out. I imagine you have some info that they would love to have and they probably have some you would love to have! I hope it works out that way!
So nice of you to stop and ‘visit’! Now that school is starting back up, and the summer nearly over, I plan to have more time to blog!
